Early Life		Josish “Josh” McEntrye was born in Dallas on 8 September 1966 to Charles and Emily McEntyre, the oldest child from a military family with deep roots in national service which Charles sought to instill in his sons from an early age, as Charles would not tolerate any “Weak Willed” men in his family. Growing up under the weight of this legacy, Josh was taught proper discipline, weapons handling, and self-reliance, skills useful for a future soldier of the United States Army as had his father, grandfather, great grandfather, all the way to the founding of the Republic of Texas. Charles was a stern taskmaster in this regard, pushing his first born to achieve excellence. Josh’s father did the same to his younger brothers, John and Eli, putting them in constant competition to determine who would be the best. He thrived, much like he did in childhood, excelling in his studies and was accepted to West Point with a 4.1 GPA. Upon his senior graduation from West Point, he asked to remain to continue his studies for a double masters in Military History and Grand Strategy, graduated in the top of his class and was commissioned a First Lieutenant of the United States Army. His career has been spent in Special Operations in Iraq, and Afghanistan after being selected for Delta in 1990 after proving himself in Panama during Operation Just Cause where his heroism saved members of his unit from enemy fire. He saw first hand Desert Shield and Desert Storm and the beginnings of Operation Enduring Freedom. In his over 2 decade career, he spent more time overseas than in the United States He’s been with SGC since 2004 when he was read in on the program. In 2010, he was assigned to Atlantis as Military Commander.
